We have produced sand and aggregates for all five of the major hydropower schemes in the South Island. At the height of the dam building era, between 1985 and 1987, we were the single largest processor of gravel in New Zealand.
For nearly five decades Road Metals has been engaged in road construction, shape
corrections, overlays and the supply and delivery of crushed and screened aggregates.
In that time we have become synonymous with quality, performance and integrity.

A word from the managing director...
My passion and belief in Road Metals is as strong today as it was when I joined my father's operation as a driver in 1970.
Since becoming Managing Director in 1993, I have strived to ensure that Road Metals is a great company to do business with.
We enjoy our industry and our success is based around building strong relationships with our clients, and having fun while we do so.
My management team and I have 'come through the ranks' and are very familiar with every aspect of our business. It is our passion and there isn't an operational situation we haven't experienced.
The company's biggest strength is the dedication of its staff. To a man, they are experienced, innovative and committed to working as a team.
